Feelin kinda Kanye-ish asĀ I post this(i.e. www.kanyewest.com ), but what the “heyall”, nothing wrong with that.. I dig skilled ballerinas and innovative performance…
Revenge of the Nerds!
Posted in clubs, event, music, video on January 3, 2010 by matteoshermaniI’ve heard some of the best DJ sets in recent times played and supported by a group of kats that would have once been bullied and thrown in the bushes after school everyday. While some of the music is original, there are a lot of remixes to classics, and great portion of the sound is a revival and appreciation of The late 80′s early 90′s acid/ Chicago house sound.. In reference to the dancing and excitement people get from the music, I love in this old expose’ on the music scene where the old woman says, ” unless its just the music that does it”.. the music is the high! (for some of us)
In my last post I talked of this party that was happening with The xx and Vhs or Beta doing Dj sets. Well, Finger on the pulse was the DJ crew that opened this party up @ lprnyc , setting the vibe high. Next VHS or Beta kept it pumping
and took me back to a hands in the air jumping screaming good period with this tracks below.
The last set was By a member of The XX . Im really diggin them musically right now.. The DJ set was kinda all over the place and definitely changed up the vibe that was going, but I could appreciate their ear for what inspires them.
I really liked the uk two step tracks they selected.. here is an example of the work they are doing as a band.

Synchronicity Strikes Back
Posted in Uncategorized on December 31, 2009 by matteoshermaniIm going through one of these vortex/matrix/metaphysical moments in time where everything I think seems to come to fruition instantly (maybe I should think about being a billionaire). Been thinking about a soul mate, deep lover, best friend, companion and co-pilot that I am missing and now symbols of her keep popping up. Just made me think of this…

On the Metropolitan Ave subway stop in Williamsburg Brooklyn, I heard a very moving sound. This mans voice is one of those that you just can’t deny.
So I left the stop, didn’t get a CD or anything and couldn’t remember his name. Some time passed then I saw him again yesterday, put the name down and promised I would connect you all with this beautiful sound. Live in the acoustics of a subway platform, this voice is amazing. Careful, you might get goosebumps…

The Softer Side… Governors Island
Posted in event, performance, video on August 5, 2009 by matteoshermaniReporting live via the Iphone. Glad we came out here. Perfect day for this outdoor performance featuring Erykah Badu and Janelle Monae. We definitely recommend Governers island for all of you folks that want to snuggle up to a little bit of earth. It’s a great escape and just a short ride on the water taxi from South Ferry. Make the trip.

Get ready to dance tonight folks. Chicago’s own Julius The Mad Thinker and NYC’s Ed Dunn are responsible for some of the sweetest and sweatiest dance floor experiences I’ve seen to date. Here are some music videos of Julius’ own productions along with a mix you can download. Enjoy!
